FF Sergio Villanueva Soccer Foundation
Jonathan founded the FF Sergio Villanueva Soccer Foundation with FDNY Captain Joe Brosi after September 11, 2001. The Foundation was created to commemorate the legacy of firefighter Sergio Villanueva, who lost his life on 9/11, and whose work ethic, integrity, discipline and courage will never be forgotten.
The mission of the Foundation is to promote international goodwill through the sport of soccer—Sergio’s passion. They accomplish this mission by providing youth soccer clinics around the world, and educating people about the events of 9/11. The Foundation has endowed scholarships at local colleges and high schools, currently giving over $25,000 annually to deserving student athletes who are leaders on their school's soccer pitch. The Foundation has also conducted Youth Soccer Clinics for over 3,000 children in locations across the globe—including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and more.

Donors Choose
Each year, in lieu of holiday cards, Jonathan adopts a classroom project in a borough of New York City in the name of his clients through DonorsChoose.org.
DonorsChoose.org engages the public in public schools by giving people a simple, accountable and personal way to address educational inequity. Here's how it works: public school teachers from every corner of America post classroom project requests on DonorsChoose.org. Requests range from pencils for a poetry writing unit, to violins for a school recital, to microscope slides for a biology class. You can browse project requests to find projects in your state or hometown, and give any amount to the one that inspires you. Once a project reaches its funding goal, the organization delivers the materials to the school.
